The Food Services Department
provides nutritious, appealing meals...check
it out!
A
child's nutrition is no small issue and
the Food Services Department provides
nutritious and appealing meals for both
breakfast and lunch. In fact, school
lunches provide one-third of the
recommended dietary intake for calories,
protein and vitamins A and C, iron and
calcium. On average, a meal contains
less than 30 percent of calories from
fat and less than 10 percent from
saturated fat.
Your
student can choose from a variety of
items, including milk, juice, cereal and
French toast sticks for breakfast; and
pizza, tacos, baked ziti and assorted
sandwiches for lunch.

Food Services Department, including
monthly menus, meal prices, free and
reduced meal information and more. |

Read an important letter about
changes in Transportation
One of
the highest priorities of the Goshen
Central School District is to provide
safe and reliable bus transportation for
our students. Over the years, we have
actually provided more service than the
District’s long-standing policy that
requires students to walk up to one-half
mile to either their bus stop or school.
Many bus routes have included frequent
stops so that students could be picked
up and dropped off closer to their
homes.

Colleen Kane
named principal of
C. J. Hooker Middle School
Effective
August 1, Colleen Kane filled the
position of principal at the C. J.
Hooker Middle School. She replaced
Kent Maslin, who resigned earlier this
summer.
Kane began working for the district in
August 2006, when the Clifton Park
native left her position as a school
counselor for the Cairo-Durham Middle
School in Greene County to serve as the
middle school’s assistant principal – a
position she held for the past two
years.

"Opt-out" form available
to keep info out of the media, district
publications
The Goshen
Central School District is proud to
provide members of the community with
information about student-related
events, activities and achievements
through district newsletters, media
releases and the district website.
However, the district realizes that not
all parents would like their child's
information made available and has
created a district-wide "opt-out" form.
This form is available in the main
office of each school building as well
as on the website.

Six seniors graduate with honor from
Goshen High School
When
nearing the end of your high school
career, it’s easy for many seniors to
acquire “senioritis” – a self-proclaimed
right of passage to slack off during the
final months of high school after four
years of taking tests, writing papers
and worrying about college applications
or entering the military or work force.
However, several seniors refused to fall
into that common pattern, including this
year’s top six Honor Grads: John Fasano,
Arielle Goyzueta, Jessica Horwath,
Matthew Schwadron, Katerina Souliopoulos
and Melissa Wiegand.
