Wild Weather Web Quest!!

 

A Science Web Quest for 2nd Grade

 

Introduction

Welcome second grade scientists! Today you will take part in a Wild Weather Web Quest.  You will collect information on your wild weather, organize it into a project as a group, and share what you learned with the class.

 

Task

  • Choose a type of wild weather
  • Research your wild weather
  • Organize the information you gathered with your group
  • Pick a project format to share your information
  • Create your project
  • Share your information with class
 

Process

Step 1: Choose a type of wild weather

Choose your weather type and take a Wild Weather Research form.

  • Tornadoes
  • Blizzards
  • Hurricanes
  • Thunderstorms

 

Step 2: Research your topic

 Research your wild weather by clicking on the link for your wild weather

Step 3: Talk about facts

Get together with your wild weather group and discuss the following questions:

1. What was the most interesting fact you found?

2. What was the scariest fact?

3. Decided as a group the most important facts to share with the class from each question.

4. Decide as a group what project you will create to present your wild weather to the class.

Step 4: Choose a way to share

Choose one of the following projects to complete and share with the class:

  • PowerPoint Presentation
  • Brochure
  • Glogster

Please be sure to include:

  • Title
  • Facts from each question from your research
  • Pictures
  • Group member names

 

Conclusion

Congratulations!  You have completed you Wild Weather Web Quest and Project! You are ready to show the class what you know! Decide who will be the main presenter for the group.  Each person should have a role and present some information to the class. Be prepared to answer questions about your Wild Weather.
