Homework Tips
 |
Make sure your child's first and last name
are on every page of his/her homework. |
 |
Homework is due the next day. |
 |
Please allow your child to spell and write
their homework. It is important that
your child stretches words out (says them
slowly out loud) and writes down the sounds
he/she hears. If words are being
spelled for them, they are not learning the
fundamental steps of spelling, reading and
writing. Please do not spell ANYTHING
for your child, unless I specify that it
needs to be correct. |
 |
Please make sure homework is completed neatly and
carefully, especially handwriting practice
sheets. It is important that your
child develops a sense of effort and pride
in completing their work. |
 |
Please complete all homework in pencil,
unless otherwise specified. |
 |
As part of weekly homework, please read with
your child everyday, even on the weekends.
Your child should also read to you (books
that I send home, familiar books or Easy
Readers). This will increase their
ability to understand the concepts of
reading, the importance of reading and the
procedures of reading. Reading to and
with you will also aid in developing a
sense of excitement about books and reading
within your child. |
Thank you and have a Happy Homework time.
