English 7 Syllabus

Mrs. Massaroni 2011-2012
Goals and Objectives:
Seventh grade ELA is designed to provide students with the skills needed to become independent readers, writers, listeners, and speakers while building upon the skills the students already possess. To achieve development of reading and writing, students will complete quarterly independent readings during the course of the year accompanied with a project/essay. During class, students will complete a genre based curriculum while practicing skills geared toward the NYS seventh grade ELA exam and achieving the goals of the NYS English Language Arts standards, as well as the National English Language Arts standards that New York has adopted.
