C. J. Hooker Middle School names Students of the Month for September
20, 2016 – The C. J. Hooker Middle School has named its
Students of the Month for September.
Students of the Month are
nominated by their teachers for being:
Respectful - The student treats classmates,
teachers and staff with respect by valuing each as an individual,
respecting differences, and valuing the work that others do.
Responsible - The student embraces the
responsibility required to maintain progress in their schoolwork and
other personal goals.
- The student contributes to the success of the school by promoting
a positive school climate through their actions and words.
Honest - The student communicates truthfully and
in a respectful way with classmates, teachers, staff and refrains
from dishonesty in completing academic work.
Committed to success - The student strives for
success in all they do and works to the best of their ability.
Sonia Hernandez: Sonia promotes a positive
environment with the kindness and respect she displays toward other
students and teachers in our school. She is consistently engaged in
her schoolwork. Her responsible nature and commitment to success
make her an exemplary student.
Tanvir Singh: Tanvir is a responsible and
hardworking student who takes his schoolwork very seriously. He is
respectful and kind to all. He has a ready smile and often goes out
of his way to help others.
Angelina Jones: Angelina works very hard in
all areas. She is new to Goshen schools and her friendly personality
has helped her make new friends. She is always willing to help
others. She is a very responsible and kind hearted individual!
Quackenbush: Seth is a very driven
and charismatic student. He is very helpful to others and makes a strong
effort to ensure that everyone around him feels included. Seth has also
demonstrated leadership skills in the classroom by advocating for his
peers. He is an excellent pick for Student of the Month due to all of
the positive characteristics that he embodies.
Abby Meyer: Abby is always positive and willing
to get up and speak in front of the class. She takes our class
seriously, but adds elements of humor to it as well.
Miranda Faber: Miranda was selected by her
teachers as the Student of the Month for September because of her
willingness to help others. Miranda will offer to help a fellow
student or her teachers before a request is even made. Her friendly,
polite and respectful demeanor helps promote a positive school
climate. Congratulations, Miranda!
Dalia Abbad: Dalia has shown exemplary
responsibility so far this year. She models strong organization for
her peers and offers to help her peers and teachers whenever needed.
Thanks for being on time, prepared, organized and helpful! Way to
Harley Stevenson: Harley is a conscientious,
friendly and well-mannered student who loves to read and discuss
books with his teachers. He is polite to others, works well in
groups, and strives to be successful. Congratulations Harley, on
being named one of September’s Students of the Month!
Courtney Lewis: Courtney always lends a helping hand and is
extremely hardworking, cheerful and polite!
Shannon Toohey: Shannon is a super friendly,
genuine young woman who is always smiling. She is diligent, curious,
and thoughtful. She demonstrates a high level of maturity and
relates well to adults, as well as to her peers. She is a strong
advocate for herself and her peers and is always polite and
Jillian Welshoff: Jillian comes to school each
day with a positive, upbeat attitude and a smile on her face. She
volunteers extensively in the community and is always willing to
help a classmate in need. For example, when a new student who spoke
little English was struggling to complete her homework, Jillian
stayed after each day and patiently helped her complete her
assignments. Jillian is friendly, polite, and always respectful of
those around her.
Seth Thompson: Seth has truly started the
year off on the right foot, and has shown what it means to be
Student of the Month! He has been responsible in getting his work
done, both in and out of the classroom. He has been a positive
influence in class, keeping upbeat and helping his peers to keep a
positive attitude too! Lastly, he has been committed to success by
giving his best effort on a daily basis so that he can be successful
both in and out of school. Way to go, Seth. Keep up the good work!
Keith Hayden: Keith
has started 8th grade off in a great way! He is always
willing to share and has taken the lead in volunteering in class. He
keeps a positive attitude, works well with others and is very
friendly. Keep up the good work, Keith!
