July 30, 2012 - On Saturday, July 21, district administrators joined the Board of Education at a goal-setting summer workshop to create goals and objectives that will serve the district over the next three school years, through 2015.
The district began this goal-setting process during the summer of 2009, when Superintendent Daniel Connor approached Terry Olivo, chief operating officer of Orange-Ulster BOCES, with the idea of establishing measurable Board goals and objectives for the district. Olivo referred Dr. Mary Ann Wilson, assistant superintendent for instruction, to assist Connor with this task.
During the summer workshop, Board members and administrators reviewed the outcome of the district’s goals and objectives for the 2011-12 school year. They also worked to update the goals and objectives for the next three school years by examining the existing goals, looking at where they are in regards to meeting them and modifying and developing new strategies when necessary.
“This is the fourth year that we’ve completed this process and I feel that the Board of Education and district administrators have progressed immensely in terms of working together, exchanging information, sharing thoughts and developing new strategies,” said Superintendent Daniel Connor.
“I’d like to thank Mary Ann Wilson for working
closely with us for the past three years,” said Connor. “The entire
district wishes her the best upon her retirement.”
